UNT guest speaker to discuss immigration of Jews to Israel

Presented by UNT's Department of Sociology and Jewish Studies Program and co-sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation and North Texas Hillel.

When: 3-4 p.m. Feb. 16 (Thursday)

About the speaker:
Dr. Larissa Remennick, a native of Moscow, researches the former Soviet Immigration to Israel and the Russian Jewish immigration of the 1990s, looking at the integration patterns of Russian-speaking Jews in Israel and in the Western countries and the formation of the global Russian-Jewish diaspora. She is the author of five books, including her most recent book, Russian Jews on Three Continents: Identity, Integration and Conflict. Remennick is a graduate of Moscow's Institute of Sociology in the Academy of Sciences, and completed post-doctoral work at Oxford University.
