Terri West of Lucas, Texas was appointed to the Board in November 2023 with a term set to expire in May 2029.
Regent West is the retired senior vice president of Texas Instruments Incorporated, where she began as an intern and worked for 37 years. During the last 19 years of her career, Regent West was responsible for the company's global communications, investor relations, government relations, community affairs and ti.com. She also was part of the company's five-person Management Committee. Currently, Regent West is chairman of the Texas Instruments Foundation board of directors.
Regent West is a 1982 graduate of the University of North Texas where she earned a BA degree in journalism, with minors in political science and Spanish. She credits professors at UNT for teaching her the art of critical problem solving and for instilling the importance of analyzing how each project, no matter how successful, could be improved.
In addition to serving as chairman of the board of advisors for the Mayborn School of Journalism, she also serves as chairman of the board for the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas Foundation, and is a board member of The June Shelton School for students with learning differences and of the Boys & Girls Clubs Southwest Region.
Regent West and her husband are parents to two grown children.
