Tracy Hicks, DNP, MBA, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, CARN-AP, FIAAN, FAANP, associate professor at
The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth’s College of Nursing, was recently re-elected as board member-at-large of the Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Hicks manages her own practice in East Texas, serving mental health, addiction and primary care needs. She’s leading the development of the College of Nursing’s Master of Science in Nursing-Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practice (MSN-PMHNP) program launching in fall 2025.*
“Dr. Hick’s extensive experience in mental health and substance use disorders is already a vital asset to our College of Nursing team. The addition of this exceptional national honor is one more example of the high caliber of our faculty,” said Dr. Cindy Weston, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, CHSE, FAANP, FAAN, founding dean and professor at the College of Nursing. “I am grateful and humbled Dr. Hicks chose to serve on our faculty and is dedicated to leading our new MSN-PMHNP program.”
Prior to her role at HSC, Hicks served as the inaugural program coordinator for Texas Christian University’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program, and she holds a certification in addictions through the Addictions Nursing Certification Board. Additionally, she is a Fellow of the International Academy of Addictions Nursing.
Her two-year board term begins July 1.
