University of North Texas at Dallas employees, students and the public are invited to attend the inaugural UNT Dallas Emergency Preparedness Day on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It promises to be informative, engaging, fun - and potentially life-saving.
The free, outdoor event will be held on campus. It is sponsored and hosted by the UNT Dallas Department of Public Safety, Risk and Emergency Management in collaboration with the City of Dallas, Office of Emergency Management.
Family-friendly activities will offer valuable preparedness and safety advice and will inform guests about resources available to them.
First responders, educators, business owners, and community leaders will be among the participants. Topics, lessons and demonstrations will include, but are not limited to, severe weather preparedness, firearms safety, fire safety and animal safety.
The event coincides with National Preparedness Month and will help area residents get what they need - both knowledge and materials - to be ready for an emergency.
Please join us. Visitors of all ages are welcome.
