The System Administration Compliance & Ethics Program advances the UNT System’s commitment to excellence by partnering with UNT System Administration employees and departments to promote ethical, honest, and lawful decision-making and conduct. Compliance is Excellence.
Your Program
The Compliance & Ethics Program belongs to each System Administration employee and department. The Program promotes a culture of individual and organizational ethical decision-making, behavior, and compliance by:
- Providing guidance and assistance in developing policies that promote efficient, effective, and compliant operations
- Providing education and training related to ethics, standards of conduct and compliance-related policies
- Assisting departments identify and evaluate compliance risks that could impede their operations and strategic initiatives
- Monitoring compliance risks to instill confidence that these risks are addressed successfully
- Stewarding processes that encourage employees to report suspected wrongdoing with confidence that the System Administration’s culture of compliance will preserve confidentiality and prohibit retaliation
- Offering guidance and consultation on individual and organizational ethics
Compliance & Ethics Program Charter
The UNT System Administration Compliance and Ethics Program is an independent function within the UNT System Administration. The program is designed to encourage ethical and lawful conduct; prevent and detect misconduct; and promote and ensure activities that affect the strategic objectives of the components of the UNT System are administered in compliance with applicable laws, rules, and policies. The program charter sets out:
- the fundamental principles, roles and responsibilities of the Compliance & Ethics Program
- senior leadership's and management's role in setting the tone of compliant and ethical decision-making and conduct
- individual employee responsibilities in organizing and managing their business and operational areas and activities in accordance with applicable laws and policies
